The older we get, the less of the body’s own collagen is available. From the age of 25, the collagen content in the connective tissue and skin already starts to decrease.
You can take the Collagen Drink once per day in the evening to provide the body with the necessary amount of cod collagen for collagen synthesis (i.e. the formation of new collagen) that takes place during the night-time hours. Cod skin is almost identical to human skin, which is why it is also used in medicine to repair the skin of burns victims.
The peptides contained in the Collagen Drink reach the bloodstream via the stomach and small intestine, from where they are conveyed via the blood vessels to the deep layers of the skin. Some of the peptides contained in the Collagen Drink are so tiny that they reach the bloodstream intact. The majority of them are broken down into amino acids and are available to the body in the blood for the formation of new collagen.
The amino acid profile of cod collagen is particularly compatible with human skin, as it consists mainly of type 1 collagen (skin type). It has an exceptionally high proportion of glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, the most important building blocks of skin collagen (formation of the helix) and contains particularly high levels of essential amino acids. Unlike other collagen sources, cod collagen additionally contains cysteine and an exceptionally high amount of the precursor methionine, both of which are crucial for collagen fiber formation.
